“You are home” That’s the sentiment we feel since moving last December. We’ve moved nearly two dozen times, but this time is different, natural almost.

Stuck, for now
At the moment, we are stuck. Every path appears to be blocked.
Starting with Tents
As we continue on this journey, it’s clear to me that we will need several trial runs. Adaptability is essential. For example, my original idea was to find a path for the three of us– an “empty nest +1” lifestyle. For many reasons, this isn’t feasible. We need an empty nest path and a +1 path.
Connections
As we continue our feasibility research, we realize the potential and the need for connecting with other people.
Feasibility Update #1
When I consider living in a mobile homestead, it feels like building a spider web–delicate yet strong, temporary yet sufficient, movable yet stable. Instead of a detailed plan with solutions, we are starting out with challenges with roadblocks. The questions shift from “What will we do?” to “How is it feasible?”.

The only way out is through.

Spider web goals
Here is what we’re doing: As an empty-nest+1 family, we are beginning a 10 year journey of mobile homesteading. Some would call it “full-timing RV life” but the “R” means recreation. This decision is not (only) about recreation but more about a new kind of lifestyle.
